Picnics

Picnics are always fun.I so fondly remember my annual school picnics & how excited we used to be........planning days in advance about what we'll carry with us, what we'll wear, what games we will play etc. There used to be eating, gup-shup,games & dancing. It invariably used to be on the banks of a river & we used to end up getting wet at the end of it.
We also used to have family picnics at every possible opportunity. We used to load ourselves of the back of a "Mazda" & go berserk at the river banks collecting stones, taking baths & catching fish with Mumma's chunni.
There was a break in college but with Office, it's back to picnic times again & it's still so much fun. Saturday was my office Annual Picnic. It was the first time in 7 years that Abhi did not want to accompany me but nevertheless, myself & Ansh decided to go & have a good time.
Ansh was quiet in the beginning, refusing to mingle with other kids & sticking to me like glue, but post lunch he was a different boy.......chasing kids, being noisy & participating in all activities.
There were balloon games & musical chairs & all other things that a child would enjoy. He was a little disappointed that his Mommy could not participate in some of the games.
Ansh even managed to crack the "Handi Smashing" game where he was blindfolded & had to go & smash a clay pot.

He carried the whole bunch of blue balloons home.

Now, looking forward to next year's picnic as a family of four
