Vishwakarma Puja

We celebrated Vishwakarma Puja yesterday at work with the same enthusiasm as last year. Here is the Idol in all it's glory. The employees did a great job of decorating the place.

Many of us wore sarees & participated in the fruit cutting ritual for prasad in the morning.

The Puja was a grand affair & there was a spirit of festivity in the air. We hardly worked the entire day. There was a small packed lunch arranged & we all ate together. Such occasions at work are so special since they cut across religious & cultural boundaries. One of my colleagues who is a Christian & has never worn a saree in her life, sportingly wore a bright yellow one which we brought to work for her & looked gorgeous. Kudos to the spirit of festivals & the spirit of unity.
The day did work wonders for my hormones too.......lol.
