Yay!

Yay!! We kissed & made up yesterday.

I sat him down & made sure he listened. I listened too. At the end of it all, I had a man laughing like a 5 year old at the predictability of it all. He exactly knows what my next move would be when I am in a re-conciliatory mood.........lol.

Burnt Toast !

Not my story , but a touching one just the same:

"When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my mom, and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite! When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he said: 'Baby, I love burned toast.'Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if He really liked his toast burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, 'Debbie, your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides-a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!'

You know, life is full of imperfect things....and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper and I can't cook at all. Similarly there are lots of things about hubby that I don't like.As long as there is love, respect & politeness, we can sail through. We have to have a marriage where burnt toast isn't a deal-breaker!

Romance

I remember so vividly our converations in the nights.........there was no end , no agenda. It's just each other's presence that was all that one needed. Most nights were spent saying "Aur Bolo" ("Tell me something"). Neither wanted to offend the other by keeping the phone. So there were hours of , "Tum pehle rakho".("You disconnect first"). And of course, there were song dedications........at all hours of the night & day. So if he heard any song that he felt reflected his feelings for me, it was a dedication to me over the phone. The meaning of each word so poignant, so touching.
All that comes alive even now when out of the blue I get a call. Not about Work, Finances, Ansh, Home, Family........but about a dedication. Hope to have many more moments like these. :)

Today's dedication: From the movie "Raaz" Sooniyo

Vacation Bonus!

So Ansh is on a month's vacation, which means no pressure to put him to bed early. This translates into long cuddling time at night. We have a good half an hour of "good-nights", "I love you's" & "big hugs"(something we've learnt from Tele-tubbies). Ansh sleeps in the middle & he puts our heads on his tiny little shoulders & then within seconds can't bear the weight & says "अब हटो भी".
We also have story times where he just tells me which characters he wants & I have to make up a story. I must say that I am getting better at it every day. :) He does not like conventional stories , so he has questions like , why can't there be a story of "Blue Riding Hood" instead of "Red Riding hood". I love his imagination :)

My lucky day

Yesterday I was a little down the weather. Had been running to the loo throughout the day & was feeling really weak by evening. Told hubby when I reached home & also asked him to send me medicines & some coconut water if possible.
Hubby came home quite late. He told me that he had to go a long way off to look for the coconut water.I told him that it was not all that necessary. & he told me "I wanted to pamper you a little". Oh ! my heart completely melted.
Then, later in the night as we got down to watching Desperate Housewives which both of us really enjoy, he tells me "You know, even if I am alone at home, I just cannot get myself to watch this coz it's so much fun watching with you coz we can laugh together". Umm... it must be my lucky day yesterday.
