We were yesterday.
While returning from Abhi's Bua's place at night after the Bhai-dooj Tikka, we witnessed kilometres of processions preceding the idols of "Kali Ma" going for immersions.
The scale of these processions had us flabbergasted. It seemed grander than Durga Puja processions & hubby informed me that they indeed were. So whereas Durga Puja Pandals & Pratimas are far grander than Kali Puja ones, the processions with which Kali Ma is taken for immersion is much grander than Durga Puja.
I am sure all bands of Kolkata were out in the streets along with lights ,processions of Cartoon Characters & Charlie Chaplins, Magicians, DJs with their entire set ups on the trucks with people going beserk dancing to the modern Hindi songs.
Ansh was awestruck & so were we.
The Kali Pratimas were gigantic and lovely.
It was a traffic jam which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Yes! These are traffic jams that one doesn't mind being stuck in!
